One of the most effective ways to encourage the use of fun worksheets for kids at home is to use video game time as a reward for the completion of printed work. The printed out sheets are meant to review the information that was learned in school. Too often kids seem to fully understand a subject while in the classroom but seem to forget the entire concept on the bus ride home. When you provide extensions of their learning at home, they will gain a better grasp of the subject. When you give children time to play online educational games that are enjoyable as a reward for completing printed work, they are more likely to oblige.
When you choose to homeschool your child, it is important to use all the resources available to you to ensure your child gets the proper education. This includes finding online worksheets for kids in the subjects you intend to cover. You can then print up the worksheets so your child can complete them away from the computer, allowing your child to work anywhere you go. In addition, these worksheets will allow your child to work on his penmanship, serving more than one purpose to your child’s education. I’m often asked the question ’What can we do to support our childrens education out of school?’. The answer they receive is not always the one they expect. They expect me to tell them to do something very time consuming and something that involves spending money. To teachers, worksheets are an answer to prayer. The can be used to see where children are at (in terms of: do they have a clue what you just taught them?), they can be used to practice on and they can be used as a recap tool. They are brilliant!
